Having Trouble Playing GW on a Laptop
Hey guys, just installed Guild Wars and got a little message that said "my video card may not be supported." I decided to ignore the message and try playing anyway, considering I have a 64MB video card.
So I started playing the game and it was working, but very very slow. Much slower than it should have been for a laptop of my specs: Compaq M2010 1.3 ghz, 1MB cache, 400mhz FSB 512 MB RAM 64 MB Intel 82852/82855 Video Card Microsoft Windows XP Home It's working really choppy and I don't understand why...Any suggestions? |

That video chipset is not really great for gaming. Lower the GW resolution/settings to get better performance on it.

Intel video chipsets aren't very good for 3D gaming. Plus, 64MB video doesn't go nearly as far as it used to. Turn the details down to the minimum and/or lower your resolution and it should play a lot faster.

You can try turning everything down graphically (also turn off all sounds as this GPU design shares memory with the system), but I dont think GW will ever run at a "playable" state on this PC.
